Joyn & TP Vision expand partnership: Streaming platform’s App to be included on a much wider selection of Philips Smart TVs

The TV streaming platform Joyn and TP Vision – the company responsible for the production, marketing and sales of Philips branded TVs – have announced that they will expand their successful content distribution partnership with a new strategic co-operation.

As part of the new agreement, the availability of the Joyn streaming App will be expanded – with immediate effect – to include Philips’ TV’s from model year 2022 onwards that feature the company’s inhouse developed and recently improved Smart TV OS – with the App having already been available on Android TV OS equipped Philips sets since 2019.

The Joyn streaming app will shortly also be available on earlier Philips TV models featuring the improved Smart TV OS with sets from 2021 onwards gaining optional access via an over-the-air update.

Philips TV users in Germany will soon have easier access to the Joyn App thanks to a new remote control with a dedicated service button that will be available on selected 2024 Philips TV sets.

The new partnership agreement is being initially introduced in Germany and will later expand into Austria.
