Philips Ambilight TV becomes Official Immersive TV Partner of Assassin’s Creed in Europe

Cologne, August 26, 2026

New partnership combines immersive Ambilight atmosphere, premium picture quality and cinematic audiovisual performance for a richer gaming experience

TP Vision today announces a new European partnership between Philips Ambilight TV and Assassin’s Creed by Ubisoft, making Philips Ambilight TV the franchise’s Official TV Partner across European markets until December 2027. The partnership will include a range of projects showing how the right TV can make game worlds feel richer, more cinematic and more immersive.

“Gamers want to feel closer to the worlds they explore, the choices they make and the stories they play through,” said Anette van Dijk, European Marketing Director at TP Vision. “Assassin’s Creed is a perfect platform to communicate our premium Gaming TV proposition. Its cinematic storytelling, fast paced action, rich audiovisual worlds and visually striking environments give us powerful ways to showcase our latest gaming innovations. The franchise also has broad mainstream appeal, making it highly relevant for gamers, retail partners and home entertainment audiences. We are honoured to partner with such an iconic brand and to work with Ubisoft to bring the atmosphere of the game into the room, showing what Ambilight can add to modern gaming.”

“Immersion is at the heart of the Assassin’s Creed experience. Our teams spend years meticulously crafting our historical worlds so that the moment you pick up the controller, you feel completely transported. Philips Ambilight TV offers a fantastic option for players who want to push that feeling even further. When you climb a viewpoint and the sunrise is projected onto the walls around you, it makes your entire space feel like part of the game!“ Martin Schelling, Head of Assassin’s Creed Brand.

Gaming is one of the most demanding and emotionally engaging uses of the TV in the home. Unlike film or sport, games respond to every player action. Gamers need speed, clarity and control, but they also want the worlds they play in to feel present, atmospheric and comfortable over longer sessions.

“Modern games demand speed, precision and consistency from a TV,” said Danny Tack, Senior Director Product Strategy and Planning at TP Vision. “Players need low latency, smooth motion, reliable connectivity and clear detail, but they also care about how a game feels in the room. Through this partnership, we can connect Ubisoft’s gaming expertise with the unique strength of Philips Ambilight TV: performance that gets players into the game, and immersion that makes the game feel bigger than the screen.”

Marnix Bouw, European Product Marketing Director at TP Vision, added: “As a hardcore gamer, I am a big fan of Assassin’s Creed worlds and storytelling. As a TV product expert, I am especially excited by how the franchise brings together rooftops, historic buildings, ocean battles, temples, characters, light, movement, sound, colour and atmosphere. These elements create the tension and scale that gamers look for, and they give Philips Ambilight TV a powerful way to demonstrate smooth motion, strong contrast, rich colour, clear detail and cinematic sound.”

The latest Assassin’s Creed titles place greater demands on TV performance. Richer lighting, sharper detail, more dynamic environments, advanced upscaling, high frame rate modes and spatial sound all make picture and sound quality more important to how players feel the game. Philips Ambilight TV brings these elements together through premium picture quality, cinematic audiovisual performance and a light experience that makes the world around the TV feel part of the action. For users who want to go further, AmbiScape can synchronise Ambilight with compatible smart lamps, extending the atmosphere deeper into the room.

Across selected Philips Ambilight TV models, gamers can access features such as high refresh rates, VRR, low latency modes, HDMI 2.1, Game Bar 2.0 and compatibility with technologies such as FreeSync or NVIDIA G SYNC, depending on the model. These features work together with the P5 AI Picture Engine, which analyses every frame in real time and helps optimise source quality, sharpness, colour, contrast and motion, so games can appear clean, detailed and natural on screen. P5 AI works as a display intelligence layer on the final signal received from the console or PC, helping refine visibility, HDR balance, texture detail and motion while respecting the creative look of the game. Ambilight then extends the colour and movement of the final image beyond the screen, adding a second layer of immersion that makes the game world feel larger, richer and more present in the room.

A Philips Ambilight TV for every type of gamer in 2026

Philips is updating its Gaming TV range in 2026, with a proposal for every audience. The OLED811 is the high contrast OLED choice for gamers who want deep blacks, strong picture quality, up to 165 Hz VRR, HDMI 2.1 and a highly responsive playing experience. The MLED981 is built for gamers who want maximum visual impact, with an 85 inch RGB Mini LED panel, rich colours, high brightness, FreeSync Premium Pro and up to 165 Hz VRR or 330 Hz DLG for fast paced games. The PQS9001 is the accessible QLED choice for gamers who want large screen sizes, up to 144 Hz VRR or 240 Hz DLG and modern gaming features in a well balanced package.

Together, Philips Ambilight TV and Assassin’s Creed create a gaming story that goes beyond technical specifications. The partnership brings together the performance gamers expect, the cinematic audiovisual quality they want and the immersive atmosphere only Ambilight can create. With Ambilight TV, Assassin’s Creed worlds do not just appear on screen. They reach further into the room.
