TP Vision celebrates 75th anniversary of first commercial Philips TV set and confirms launch dates for the Philips Ambilight TV 2025 range

TP Vision is marking a milestone moment in European consumer technology history by celebrating the 75th anniversary of the first commercially available Philips TV set, while also unveiling the on-sale dates for the Philips Ambilight TV 2025 line-up – including the latest premium OLED, MiniLED (MLED), and QLED models.

A Legacy of Innovation
From the early days of the medium, Philips played a pioneering role in the evolution of television, having publicly demonstrated its first TV at IFA Berlin in 1935. In 1950, Philips launched its first full-production TV: the distinctive 8.6-inch model affectionately nicknamed “The Kennel”, and the world’s first TV set to use the 625-line standard soon to be adopted across Europe.

Today, some 75 years later, whether OLED, MLED or QLED, Philips Ambilight TVs continue to set new standards in the premium TV market by delivering the most immersive viewing experience.

The latest Titan OS features Game Bar 2.0 and four full-speed HDMI 2.1 ports while a 60W 4.1 sound system includes a dedicated rear mounted subwoofer.

“The One TV that has it all”. QLED display with 144Hz VRR and a direct LED backlight, a three-sided Ambilight system, the improved Titan OS with Game Bar 2.0 and four full-speed HDMI 2.1 ports.

Sound quality is also excellent throughout the range thanks to the Intellisound engine. The 43” model offers a 20W 2.0 system, the 50”, 55” & 65” sets have a 40W 4.0 system while the 75” and 85” sets include 50W 2.1 systems with a rear mounted built in subwoofer.
