Amsterdam, March 27th 2014 – TP Vision presents two new Philips TV lines with screens ranging from 51cm (20’’) up to 139cm (55’’). Each of these TVs blends a refined design with contemporary features to elevate the TV experience. Targeting consumers looking for a set with a modern design and a straightforward TV experience delivering excellent quality, the new Philips Smart TVs will be available in the second quarter 2014 in Europe including Russia and Latin America.

Many of these new Philips TVs incorporate advanced technologies. The Philips 4500, 5500, 5600 and 5700 series Smart TVs honour Philips’ award-winning picture quality heritage. Thanks to a Perfect Motion Range of 200 Hz and up, fast motion scenes are displayed naturally and fluidly. The Philips TVs deliver vivid colours and display pictures as well as movies with great sharpness, while Micro Dimming enhances the contrast by providing deep blacks and bright whites.

Connecting with the internet and peripheral devices
All Philips 4000 and 5000 series TV models come with a broad choice of interfaces and ports that, for example, allow content to be played from a connected USB memory stick, record broadcasts to a hard disk drive via USB, or stream unprotected content stored on a computer via DLNA. The Philips 4500, 5500, 5600 and 5700 series Smart TVs can connect to the internet – either via USB Wi-Fi dongle (4500), available as an accessory – or via an integrated, high-speed Wi-Fi interface. Thanks to the integrated digital tuner and CI+-slots, the Philips Smart TVs can cope with all scenarios for TV usage.

Philips Smart TV – a whole new world to explore
The new Philips 4500, 5500, 5600, and 5700 series Smart TV models provide instant access to the Philips Smart TV offering, including a broad selection of online apps, video on demand, access to online video stores and catch-up TV. They also feature the Philips Cloud Explorer app, which provides direct access to photos, videos, and other content stored in the cloud. Cloud TV* streams a choice of hundreds of local, national, international and special interest channels over the internet to Philips TVs.
