Outstanding Black level, color and motion

All of the new OLED models combine the best of OLED technology with the P5 engine and Ambilight to make the perfect immersive viewing experience.

The new Philips OLED TVs can also produce a peak white output of 900 nits ensuring a huge, unmatched contrast ratio and allowing the brightest and darkest elements of an image to be reproduced on-screen simultaneously.

Producing pure black levels also allows OLED sets to offer a more accurate and vibrant color palette to be produced with the Philips OLED TVs reproducing an exceptionally wide color gamut (99% DCI-P3).

The 2018 Philips OLED TVs also enjoy a hugely improved viewing angle over edge lit LCD TVs, delivering incredibly consistent brightness, color and contrast, to wherever the viewer is seated.

OLED TVs are also typically more than 100 times faster than traditional LED based TVs, giving super-fast response times to ensure motion is always razor sharp.

OLED and P5 – In perfect harmony

Philips P5 processor has the power of five processors in one with the sheer processing scale necessary to easily handle the masses of data delivered by Ultra HD and 4K images. P5 analyses, deconstructs and individually addresses each of the five variables that define picture quality: Source perfection, Sharpness, Color, Contrast and Motion.

Much of the content that feeds our televisions contains annoying visual imperfections such as noise and artefacts. The P5 Source Perfection corrects these, reducing noise without introducing annoying blurring while eliminating banding by extending 8 bit video to near 14 bit precision.

Many sources of content have a much lower resolution than the 4K quality that today’s screens are capable of displaying. The P5’s Perfect Sharpness Ultra Resolution Upscaling and Detail Enhancer transforming content into a sharper Ultra HD picture for a more refined image with noticeably more depth and dimension.

The panel’s already exceptional contrast is further improved thanks to the inclusion of P5’s Perfect Contrast system working at a multiple zonal level within the image and in partnership with Philips’ TV Micro Dimming Perfect technology expanding the contrast range with brighter brights and deeper blacks. The result is a picture with more depth and preservation of detail to create the feeling of being more “inside” the action.

Color reproduction is also exceptional thanks to the natural wide color gamut of the OLED panel being further improved by Philips’ TV P5 Perfect Color system featuring a 17-bit color booster and intelligent color processing For more intense, vivid colors and more natural skin tones.

Motion sharpness also sets new standards thanks to the inherent speed of the OLED panel and the incredible 4 billion pixels processing power of Philips’ TV Perfect Natural motion technology that ensures even the fastest moving Ultra HD images are reproduced as fluid motion while maintain exceptional sharpness.

Ambilight – a better connection

Ambilight integration reaches new heights with Philips OLED TVs thanks to the ultra-slim bezel allowing a near seamless connection with the on-screen images. The three sided Ambilight Spectra XL system is able to further enhance the TV’s already exceptional color vibrancy and huge contrast ratio while creating a more immersive viewing experience than previously available.

65” OLED 973

First previewed at IFA 2017, and now available across European markets, the 65” OLED 973 is a true flagship for the Philips TV range and fully reflects the company’s focus on outstanding European design and craftsmanship. The design quality extends to the refined proportions and beautiful, natural materials used throughout – all officially recognized by the set receiving the prestigious 2018 Red Dot Award accolade.

Craftsmanship is further emphasized by the chassis and its extremely tight fit with the dimensions of the OLED panel and by the innovative integration of the outstanding 6.1 high-end 60W sound system within the stand.

The system features six front firing drivers – mounted in the aluminum and Kvadrat speaker cloth covered integrated sound base – to bring detail and clarity to all mid and high notes while a backfiring Triple Ring speaker – with an integrated bass port – ensures deep and tight bass performance. The sound base can be used either on a table top or wall mounted, in either case, the speaker cloth remains clearly visible and the same excellent sound quality is delivered.

The 65” OLED 973 is powered by the Android M TM Smart TV system and is certified by Google, giving access to all TV orientated apps, services, and content in the Google Play Store while also complementing the existing Philips Smart TV offering. Effortless operation and fast navigation is possible thanks to powerful Quad Core processing and an advanced remote control with QWERTY keyboard, swipe pad and speech recognition technology.

65” OLED 873

The new 65” OLED 873 is the big brother to the outstanding product from Philips first-half 2017 range – joining the multi-award winning 55POS9002 in the Philips range.

The OLED 873 combines the P5 picture processing engine and the three-sided Ambilight system, together with the pure black levels of OLED to create a new reference level for TV picture quality.

The combination of the 873’s 900 Nit peak-light performance, wide colour gamut OLED panel and the P5 picture processing ’engine allows the set to easily reach and even surpass the standard for UHD Premium certification and Philips’ own exacting HDR Perfect standard – for both HDR10 and HLG content.

Sound quality is equally impressive thanks to the inclusion of Philips patented and powerful triple ring technology and DTS HD Premium Sound compatibility.

The refined proportions and the use of premium materials extends to the brushed aluminium open frame, ‘Cradle’ central stand that provides the 873 with a floating look. The razor thin chassis and the extremely tight dimensions and fit of the OLED panel, within the super thin narrow bezel, are also hallmarks of Philips ‘visual lightness’ design philosophy.

The 873 is powered by the Android M TM Smart TV system and is certified by Google, giving access to all TV orientated apps, services, and content in the Google Play Store.

55” and 65” OLED 803

Joining the range in Q2 2018, will be a new OLED set from Philips the OLED 803, available in both 55” and 65” versions from launch.

The combination of a 900Nit peak light output and the P5 processing engine allows the set to reach UHD Premium and Philips own HDR Perfect standard.

Powered by the Android M TM Smart TV system, the set features an ultra-fast quad core processor and 16GB of expandable onboard memory. It will also launch as Google Assistant Built-in ready with the potential for full spoken control of the TV.

The 803 features a new minimalist design, with super-narrow bezel in a brushed metallic finish complemented by two narrow, horizontal metal feet set at right angles to the screen.

A razor thin chassis also allows a near seamless connection to the three-sided Ambilight technology, with the immersive viewing experience reaching new heights thanks to the TV’s exceptional color vibrancy and huge contrast ratio.

Sound quality matches the set’s overall performance thanks to the inclusion of Philips patented and powerful triple ring technology and DTS HD Premium Sound compatibility.
