Amsterdam, Monday April 3. 2017 – TP Vision’s strategy to make Philips TV the ‘stand-out’ TV brand by focusing on the best of European premium quality craftsmanship and design has led to the company again receiving the highest official recognition with the announcement of another Design Award from the prestigious Red Dot design competition; continuing the company’s long and successful track record, having recently also won three design awards in 2016.
In 2017 it is the new flagship Philips 9002 OLED series that has received the honour of being nominated as an outstanding product in the Consumer Electronics category in the Red Dot Product Awards.
The Red Dot jury were clearly impressed by the way 9002’s design communicates both innovation through lightness and the ultimate in picture quality, balancing cutting edge technology in a design that communicates the highest performance whilst enhancing the modern home.
The Red Dot Design Award is an internationally recognised quality label for the highest level of design, and each competition receives over 5000 submissions from nearly 60 countries representing the best of design in their respective categories.

The Philips 9002 is a stunning TV combining exceptional picture quality with beautiful European design and craftsmanship and will be available as a 139cm (55”) model. Red Dot have recognised that the 2017 9002 underpins the Philips promise of innovation through achieving seamless interior fit and high end detailing through its bold, unique archetype.

The UHD Premium set it is able to reproduce the deepest possible pure blacks, brighter whites, more vivid colours and greater details. The razor thin bezel allows for a near seamless connection to the unique 3-sided ambilight technology, giving the impression of the picture literally escaping the boundaries of the screen, by projecting light onto the wall behind the set. The vibrancy and excitement move beyond the screen bringing with it a more immersive viewing experience.
