Amsterdam, February 4th, 2014 – TP Vision announces that both the Philips DesignLine and the PFL 47PFL7108S have been awarded the ‘iF product design award 2014’. It is one of the most prestigious awards for innovative product design and is sponsored by International Forum Design GmbH, Hanover (Germany). The award ceremony will take place in Munich on 28th February, 2014.
Philips DesignLine breaks with conventional TV design
The unconventional style of Philips DesignLine TVs fits modern living spaces perfectly. The DesignLine TV’s front is a seamless sheet of glass in a black to transparent gradient, which masks the screen in off-mode. When switched on, the large glass front gives the screen a magical floating effect. Three-sided Ambilight projects light – precisely matching the colour of the on-screen content – onto the wall behind the TV. This enhances the impression of floating while greatly extending the viewing experience.
Philips 7100 series: frameless design with high-grade materials
The PFL 47PFL7108S features a frameless front glass panel wrapped in an ultra-thin rim of silver brushed aluminium. Below the screen a white and silver detail seamlessly integrates the inbuilt camera. The silver is combined with chrome polished aluminium in the unique open stand. The design is complemented by three-sided Ambilight, which expands the Philips TVs viewing experience by throwing a glow of light matching the on-screen colours onto the wall behind.
