Amsterdam, 18th April, 2012 – Today, TP Vision announced that its Philips MediaSuite TV for hotels received the prestigious “Most Innovative Hospitality Technology Award for 2011”. HTNG awards honour innovations that have had the most impact on the hospitality industry each year. Philips MediaSuite TV won this major award over a total of 19 entries. HTNG is a non-profit trade association and the awards jury is made up of hoteliers and independent consultants.

Developed together with hoteliers and for hoteliers
“The HTNG award is valuable proof that Philips MediaSuite offers exactly what hoteliers and their guests are looking for,” said Wouter Staal, Senior Global Marketing Manager at TP Vision’s Hospitality TV. “Our unique approach of collaborating closely with hoteliers to create a Smart TV for hotels pays off – for hoteliers and for their guests.”
“HTNG congratulates the development team from TP Vision’s Hospitality TV,” said Douglas C. Rice, Executive Vice President & CEO of Hotel Technology Next Generation. “They have demonstrated a basic principle of HTNG, that a collaborative approach with industry experts can yield outstanding results. This is a great example of a vendor listening to the right people, and designing a product that meets an industry need.”

High quality in-room entertainment with a low total cost of ownership
Philips MediaSuite TV is the first Smart TV that is expressly targeted at hotels. The connected MediaSuite TVs allow access to a broad range of international and local apps which hoteliers can offer to their guest without additional costs. All services are hosted on a central platform, minimising deployment and maintenance costs for hoteliers. Together with IPTV partners, the MediaSuite can easily be linked to Video on Demand content and to a hotel’s Property Management System (PMS) while offering branding opportunities on its user interface. MediaSuite supersedes set-top boxes and head-end investments. This reduces the overall total cost of ownership. Last but not least, the Full HD LED TVs are designed to minimise power consumption – this cuts down on environmental impact and lowers operating costs. MediaSuite TVs have Energy Label A+ and EcoFlower certification.
